LIVE DVD & CD in CARRÉ!
Wowie eindelijk! Dit is de eerste keer dat we goede live opnames hebben van onze show!

CARRÉ
Lieve lieve mensen, oude bekenden en nieuwe (nog) onbekenden, het was helemaal het einde gister in Carré! Carré.... ik hoor het me zeggen en nu geloof ik het nóg niet!
Iedereen zag er zo fantastisch uit van vooraan tot helemaal in de nok, ik hoop dat er veel publiekshots op de dvd komen!
Groter en mooier dan gisteren hoeft niet, we hopen iedereen en de rest te zien bij alle zomerfestivals. Laten we er door de recessie achter te komen dat we alleen eten drinken liefde en muziek nodig hebben!
Merci merci et lalalalove! En de groeten van mijn kater die ik heb van de Pink Pussycats.

WE HEBBEN EEN ZILVEREN HARP
Het voelt zo goed om deze harp nu thuis te hebben en we zijn nog steeds een beetje beduusd vanwege het feit dat we met het Metropole Orkest hebben mogen spelen! Gaaf!

ROOM ELEVEN
Room Eleven’s bio reads like a teenage adventure novel with a girl in the starring role. A plucky, aspiring singer posts a note on the bulletin board at the conservatory in Utrecht: Seeking kindred spirits to write songs with. If interested, contact Janne Schra. Guitarist and songwriter Arriën Molema answers, and they start writing original material together. They debut in the heart of Amsterdam at the Uitmarkt Festival in 2004. Their first album, Six White Russians & a Pink Pussycat is released in 2006. They perform at the North Sea Jazz Festival in that same year. They win an Essent Award and appear at major Dutch festivals: Noorderslag, Oerol and the Liberation Day festival – at two locations, no less. They sell out major venues Tivoli and Paradiso. They play the Montreal Jazz Festival. Their album goes platinum.
A flying start, but there are more successes ahead in 2008. On the group’s MySpace page (because that’s how things work these days), Japanese fans are begging to get to see them play. And so, just a few short years after their first gig, they’re off to Japan for six shows. Next, they’re headed to New York to meet American singer/songwriter Dayna Kurtz. It seems that in a fit of cheek, Janne had sent an e-mail to her idol Kurtz to ask if she might be interested in doing a duet. And Kurtz not only said yes, but she would even provide her studio and her producer, Randy Crafton. Mmm… Gumbo? is released in April 2008, with a sound even more varied than their first album. The spicy Cajun dish of the title was chosen to reflect the group’s versatility, because, like gumbo, the music is a unique blend of ingredients – in this case, ingredients like soul, jazz and folk.
Despite the group’s success, the band remains the picture of modesty. Wherever they go, they exude an irresistible charm that says “sorry, we didn’t mean it!” while at the same time being possessed of the perseverance and self-confidence that shows that they know very well what they’re doing.
The jury appreciates and respects Room Eleven for the fact that they have no problem pushing boundaries, don’t let limitations slow them down and aren’t afraid to just pick up and try whatever new thing they come across. Room Eleven is open-minded, a quality that will certainly continue to open up big opportunities for them in the future.
The jury sees Room Eleven as a true “band’s band” and admires the quality and originality of the music that Room Eleven plays.
With the award of the Buma Silver Harp, the jury hopes that the adventure novel continues to develop into the weighty bio of a long and successful career.
